The Refamiliarization exhibition opens on Wednesday, September 29th, curated by Berkeley Center for New Media graduate students, Julia Irwin and Justin Berner. Join us for 3 days of screenings, performances, and installation projects. View the full schedule here.
Food Art Bank (FAB), a collaborative project by Prof. Jill Miller and Nassirah Nelson, is open at Platform throughout the semester. FAB combines community-centered art experiences with basic needs distribution, in an effort to address and disrupt the negative stigma attached to basic needs and income disparity. FAB artists and interns curate pop-up events with local artists, musicians, chefs, activists, and other cultural workers, initiating collaborations across the intersection of art and food. FAB is a featured project at Art Prospect Festival 2021: Forms of Unity currently on view in St. Petersburg, Russia. View FAB’s weekly schedule here.
