Platform is an art-focused project space located on the UC Berkeley campus, adjacent to Wurster Hall. It was created and is directed by Professor Jill Miller from the Department of Art Practice in collaboration with a curatorial board made up of students from across campus.

Platform curates workshops, events, and exhibitions by and for the greater UC community. Some projects are initiated by the Platform curatorial board, while others are selected through an application process.

Anyone can apply to host a project at Platform. Projects embracing our priorities (listed below) are highly encouraged. Applications are reviewed on a monthly basis by the curatorial board.

Platform prioritizes:

  • Art projects that thrive outside of traditional art spaces

  • Artists who take risks with their work

  • Collaborations and participatory projects

  • Underrepresented artists (people of color, LGBTQ+, non-binary artists, women, artists with disabilities)

Platform facilitates dialogue between students across campus, encourages artistic conversations and cultural production, and is a site for civic engagement and participatory action.
